Engine Performance, Charging, & Capability
As we mentioned, the 4xe uses an electric motor and an engine. The engine is a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder, which together, the two components can generate up to 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. You'll be able to hit the 97-km/h speed in only about six seconds, and when you have to tow items, you'll be able to haul up to 3,500 pounds. Jeep has paired the engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission to give you the right amount of power at the right time.
What's great about driving a plug-in hybrid is its flexibility. Yes, you can travel exclusively on electric power alone. The Jeep Wrangler 4xe has an all-electric range of up to 34 kilometres. This range is perfect for regular commutes to work and to run errands around town. When you're planning on going further away from home, remember that there's also a gas-powered engine for you to utilize. The total range can be up to 595 kilometres, and after your electric power has been used up, the SUV transitions to using the power created from the gas engine. You can fill up your tank at a gas station or find a charging station to get more range. The battery can be fully charged in about two hours when using a 240-volt/Level II charger. When you're using a regular outlet and a Level I charger, you can charge overnight. To get a full charge, you'd need to stay plugged in for approximately 12 hours.
Like other Wranglers, the 4xe is ready to go off-roading. It comes with a 4x4 drivetrain so that it's ready for a challenge. If you're planning on hitting some difficult trails, consider the Unlimited 4xe Rubicon. It has a 4:1 low-gear ratio and electric front- and rear-axle lockers.
Exterior & Interior Features
We carry three trims of the Jeep Wrangler 4xe, each having its style and features. The Sahara comes in many bold colours, including Sarge Green and Firecracker Red. It has leather-faced seats and a large touchscreen with navigation, and it can have a hardtop or soft top. The High Altitude model has more advanced safety systems, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a premium audio system. Its blue tow hooks stand out, and its body-colour exterior bumpers look refined. Finally, the Rubicon trim has a more rugged style. It has higher ground clearance, all-terrain tires, and surf blue accents inside and outside the cabin. The contrast stitching on the seats matches the outline of the "Rubicon" name on the hood and the Jeep exterior badging.
